Pastor Abigail is passionate about helping families explore faith together, and helping everyone find the faith stories that allow them to make meaning out of the events of their lives.

Abigail grew up in Indiana, received a BA in English and History from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and earned her Master’s of Medieval Literary Studies at Oxford University in England. The focus of her graduate work was the writings of medieval English female saints. She became a Waldorf English teacher in 2004, and has taught humanities and social justice topics in grades 3-12 for the last 16 years.

In 2016, Abigail began working as the Family Ministries Coordinator at the Vergennes Congregational Church, and at the same time began her alternative path to ordination with the Vermont Conference, UCC. She is excited about learning with her congregation how to be the church in rural Vermont in the 21st century.

Abigail lives in Vergennes with her husband Chris, their three children, and a very active hound dog. She and her family are involved in education and activism around climate change, migrant justice, and disability awareness. Abigail loves to explore Addison County and the outdoors with her family, hike, garden, make art, read, and tell stories.
